Benefits Committee

Ed Meyer, NFRA Executive Director

Committee Description: The purpose of the Benefits Committee is to establish new benefits to membership and maintain old benefits to membership in the Association. Each year, members consider if what they receive from the Association is worth what they pay to be a part of the Association. We have made significant strides to ensure that the answer to these questions is Yes! But we have a long way to go in this area.  There are hundreds of benefits that could be offered to our members if we had a few people to really dig into setting them up. Everything from discount cars, hotel benefits, travel coupons, discounts from Vendors and anything else you can dream of. All it takes a small group of people to consider what benefits would be most important to our members. You are the right person for this committee if you can think outside of what exists and are good at answering the question, “what could be?” There are thousands of organizations in this country that do a great job at this, and we are not afraid to emulate success. But we need members committed to making it happen!

Conference Committee

Amy Sullivan, Adventures Media

Committee Description: The purpose of the Conference Committee is to evaluate sites and venues for future conferences. As we become a truly national organization, it will become important to have multiple conferences each year. To that end, it becomes important to evaluate cities, hotels and conference centers that might be appropriate for our organization. Once a venue has been chosen for a conference, the conference committee helps to organize the layout of conference spaces, the schedule for the conference, the menu for meals and all aspects of the conference. The committee creates unique and fun social activities for the membership during the conference and overall, helps to ensure that the conference goes well. This is an opportunity to work with a professional marketing director to hone your skills in meeting management. If you enjoy organizing a party or event for your friends, family or company, this is the committee for you. If you are detail oriented and have the ability to think through processes (or if you think you would like to learn more about this important skill from a professional) sign up for the Conference Committee!

Education Committee

Tony Daughtry, NFRA Education Director

Committee Description: The purpose of the Education Committee is to ensure that the educational objectives of the organization are sound, respected and establishes the organization as an authority in the industry. The Education Committee is the true backbone of the organization, as without a true educational experience at each event, we are just a social organization.

Each sub-committee is established to help the organization to analyze a specific component of the foundation repair industry, establish an approved Standard Operating Procedure in each discipline and to aid in finding materials to substantiate the Standard Operating Procedure as an engineering approved method. Each sub-committee will also contribute materials to continually update the National Certified Foundation Repair Specialist Exam. This Exam is the only exam in our industry that is available to the industry to demonstrate knowledge in the industry and its practices. These study materials will be the basis for members to gain knowledge in each discipline and will be the basis for the next revision of the NCFRS Exam. If you understand the importance of having an educated workforce and are interested in insuring that our members are well versed in each of the disciplines and have more than a superficial knowledge of each discipline (or you know you need more knowledge in a specific discipline) please sign up for the Education Committee.

This is the most important thing we can do to ensure that our industry grows in the direction of legitimacy and that good companies who do great work succeed, leaving behind competitors who have no interest in doing great work!
